October 3, 2020 - Top-5 finish in Gumbo Nationals opener at Greenville
Thursday night saw Drew Armstrong return with the Comp Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) at Batesville Motor Speedway (Batesville, Ark.) for the rescheduled event from July 31st. With the feature grid already set for the $3,000-to-win A-Main, Armstrong was an early retiree from the 35-lapper on lap 13.

On Friday night, Drew followed the CCSDS to Greenville Speedway (Greenville, Miss.) to take part in the two-day Gumbo Nationals. Drawing 38 cars, Armstrong laid down the ninth fastest time in his qualifying group before placing third in his heat. Rolling off ninth for the A-Main, Drew advanced forward five spots to register a fourth place finish behind Neil Baggett, Brian Rickman, and Billy Moyer with B.J. Robinson coming in fifth. For the $8,000-to-win finale on Saturday evening, Armstrong notched a runner-up finish in his heat behind Josh Putnam, which positioned him seventh on the starting grid for the show. Falling shy of a Top-10 finish, Armstrong faded four spots in the 50-lap affair to register an 11th place outing.

Drew remains in ninth in the latest CCSDS point standings. For more results from these events, please visit www.COMPDirt.com.
